OVERVIEW of PROGRAMS
|
|
Welcome to HorseWorks' authentic working horse and cattle ranch. Whether you are a beginner, or an advanced rider, you will enjoy our one-day (Saturday), one-week (Monday to Friday) and three-week Working Ranch Internships. Have the unique ability to ride a variety of horses and to ride horses appropriate to your ability. A beginner will start with a beginner's horse and progress through our string of horses as her riding improves. An advanced rider starts on a more advanced horse and continues to progress through the string of horses, as well. Our arrival orientation helps us match you with appropriate horses from the time you arrive until you leave. Lessons are included at no additional charge upon request. In instructional, working ranch environment, enjoy time in the saddle on cattle drives, scenic trail rides and horsemanship/gymkhana clinics geared toward your experience level and interests. Too old to learn? Owner Nate Brown (wrangling horses in the above photo) is 87 years young in 2008, still starting colts and still learning from every horse and every person he meets. For Internships, clinics, cattle drives, horse drives, round-ups, trail rides, endurance training for aspiring endurance riders and other horseback events, see the 2008 Calendar and please call or email for details and availability.
All prices include cabin
accommodations, a choice of great horses, as much riding as you want,
down-time around the campfire, yummy food and lots of it. Expect basic
comfort and services. We are a working ranch, not a dude outfit,
so fancy is not
our game. Towns within an hour's drive offer the chance to soak
your tired muscles in the hot springs at the end of the trail, visit
world-class Western museums, shop and go white water rafting.
To use our facilities for your non-horse event (Quilting Guild Retreats, cross-country skiing, holiday and company parties, birthday and anniversary parties) between November and May, please call for information and availability. Follow the link to Our Programs for details. NOTICE: Some scheduling influences are beyond our control such as weather and BLM decisions. We do our best to maintain schedules, but be prepared to roll with the punches. |
