One-week Internships   (Scroll down for Three-week Internship Session dates.)
Trail riding, horse wrangling and cattle work (team penning, cutting)

  • Choose among a great selection of over a hundred horses to ride for all events

  • Trail ride on over 66,000 acres from sage brush flats, grassy slopes, beautiful rims and ridges 

  • Experience working horse ranch activities (team penning, cutting)

  • Audit Wrangler Intern Clinics at the corrals 5:30-7:30 a.m. daily before breakfast and observe training sessions with HorseWorks' young stock.  This is a great question-and-answer opportunity for issues of concern to you.

  • Enjoy delicious meals at the ranch and on the trail

  • Cabin accommodations

  • Round-trip transportation between Cody and the Ranch provided

  • Ride our tack or bring your own

  • No experience required.  Instruction upon request at no charge

Fee for Monday morning to Friday afternoon:  $950 plus gratuity.  $650 for children 12 and under.

Note: once a week is booked, it is open only to similar bookings. I.e., if Scouts book a week, it is open only to Scouts, if adults book a week, it is open only to adults, if families with children book a week, it is open only to families with children.

Three-week Internships are for serious students of ranching and horsemanship.  No prior experience is necessary.  See the 2008 Schedule for Intern arrival dates between May and October.   Participation is limited.  Prospective Interns should submit an Application explaining your goals and why you think HorseWorks' Internship is right for you. 

  • Enjoy all the great opportunities above for one-week Interns, plus

  • You may to extend your stay at HorseWorks upon mutual agreement on a week-by-week basis for a nominal weekly fee. 

  • You may apply for reduced rates on cattle drives and clinics.

  • Interns returning for the third year and pursuing equine-related studies may apply for HorseWorks Scholarships to be awarded to your educational institution.

  • Note: Interns under the age of 18 yrs are welcome.  Conditions apply.  Please call or email for details.

Fee for three weeks: $2500 includes horses, tack, cabin accommodations, meals, weekends at no additional charge and participation in all the scheduled events during your 3-week stay.  Pick-up in Cody Sunday night, return to Cody Friday afternoon.

Note:  Interns should bring an additional $200 spending money for possible extra trips and activities which will be decided on by the group upon arrival.  These trips may include an overnight stay in Yellowstone National Park, White Water Rafting, Rodeos etc.

    Use our excellent facilities for your Quilting Guild Retreats, cross-country skiing, holiday parties, company parties, birthday and anniversary parties and other non-riding events from November to May.

Price & Refund Policy

All prices include: great horses, meals and lots of them, accommodations and round-trip transportation between Cody and the ranch at the beginning and end of your trip.  Days may be added to your trip for $150/day. Bookings are held upon receipt of non-refundable deposit.  Balance is due at least sixty days prior to arrival and is non-refundable after that time. In cases of emergency cancellation, trip payments may be credited toward another trip or transferred to another person.  Consider purchasing trip insurance.
